Many may not know about Dufla Diligon right now, but 10 years ago, he was the most promising and talented Dancehall artist we had in the country. Dufla came into the limelight after signing for the then-hottest record label ‘GRANDPA RECORDS’, His first hit was TEMPO.

‎A hit that took over East Africa and even secured him a remix with Uganda’s Cindy Sanyu. Dufla kept his consistency under Grandpa, getting bookings all over the country and even working with industry heavyweights like Fundi Frank, and Mzazi Willy Tuva.

‎His success secured him collaborations with industry favorites like Fena Gitu’s and Sanaipei Tande which birthed Katapila which was a real banger, once my favorite track, and the unexpected ‘Hold You Collabo.

‎What happened to Dufla Diligon? After the closure of Grandpa Records, this seems to be where things started going wrong for the Biringisha hitmaker. A lot of the bookings he was getting slowed down and that may have affected his brand. My research online shows me the last song he dropped was 10 months ago and to my surprise, the once potential Dancehall King now sings in his local dialect. To me, this is a downgrade for such a talent who has the potential to get back his Kenyan fanbase and even take over The East African Market by storm.

‎Dufla needs to find a new management and producer, invest in his music, Keep consistency, and make connections. Our Dancehall industry is in deep sleep and he’s the one to wake it up. When the birds start chirping in the Morning, Dufla Diligon should be up on his feet.

When you are not content within yourself, seeing someone else where you would like to be can be upsetting because you […]
