I remember when I first vibed to ‘Tingika’ in my high school days. That era was ruled by ‘Pacho,’ a record label by Naiboi. They brought us a very talented and potential artist, Rankaddah.
But fast forward 11 years later, nobody knows where Rankaddah is. My research shows that the last time he dropped a project was one year ago,’Lingala,’ a lyric video with only 1.6k views on YouTube.
What really happened to such a promising talent?
Well, when he came into the limelight, he was signed under Pacho Record label, which was later closed. But the Kenyan music industry is never favorable for anyone who doesn’t have a proper management, and this is one of the things that might have affected Rankaddah.
The talent that he has would have enabled him, and still can help him, to make a comeback. When Arbantone hit the waves last year, I surely expected the ‘My Type’ hitmaker to ride on it and make a comeback.
One thing is also worrying:his online presence. The last time he posted on IG was one year ago when he released the Lingala song. Is everything okay on his side?
That’s a question that makes us try and reach him as soon as we can. In the comments section of his YouTube videos, his loyal fanbase is worried and is asking for more from him.
Rankaddah has the potential; his talent is immense, and he certainly needs proper management to make his comeback.
I’m one of his loyal fans. Actually, everytime I listen to his song ‘My Type,’i remember that one girl who introduced me to campus heartbreaks. I would sing that song for her.
Rankaddah needs to make his social media active, engage with the current Arbantone artists, and work with them. He should wake up from his deep sleep because the Caribbean babes really want to know who he is.
